2021-2022 budget & rates process
Stay up to date on our 2021-2022 budget and rates public process

We present our 2021-2022 budgets for approval to the Public Utility Board and Tacoma City Council this fall. Our proposals include rate adjustments for Tacoma Power and Tacoma Water. We know rates affect you. That is why we work hard to keep our costs low, which keeps rates more affordable for everyone in our community An average increase of 2% is expected for commercial customers. Tacoma Power outage portal
Introducing more ways to report and track power outages

As we head into storm season, add a new tool to your preparedness kit: Tacoma Power's outage portal. The enhanced outage map and new portal offers more features and information, and allows you to easily report a power outage online. You can also choose to receive updates about outages impacting your business via email and text message. Enroll today at MyTPU.org/Outage.
 
Public EV charging
Receive up to 80% of your project costs when installing EV charging stations at your property or business

Tacoma Power received funding to support EV charging projects in the City of Tacoma. Funds support the installation of public EV charging stations, EV charging at multifamily properties, and charging for electric cargo and material handling equipment. Funding is limited and expires on December 15, 2021. Learn more at MyTPU.org/PublicEVCharging.

Helping you save money by becoming more energy-wise is an important part of what we do. We’ve compiled a list of no-cost and low-cost actions business owners can take to save energy and lower operating costs. These energy savings tips can help you and your staff avoid using energy when it’s not absolutely needed. Your business may qualify for a $50,000 renewable energy grant

It’s that time of year again! We’re giving away one $50,000 grant to buy and install a renewable energy project and your business may qualify.

We’re accepting grant applications from local non-profits, schools, and government agencies. With the help of our grant you could generate your own electricity from renewable sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal. See past winners by visiting our website.

Funding for the grant comes from Tacoma Power customers who participate in Evergreen Options. Evergreen Options is a voluntary program that enables you to buy electricity produced from renewable energy sources. Our electricity primarily comes from clean, renewable hydroelectric power, and is 98% carbon-free.
